The course presumed the basic knowledges about relational database systems as they are presented in the bachelor course XE36DBS. The course starts with the discussion of individual parts of SQL language according to SQL92 standard (DML, DDL, DCL, TCL). The lectures follow with discussion of advanced SQL features which are also included in SQL99 standard (recursion, modules, etc). But the course is aimed to practical application of SQL, hence the students work with Oracle 10g during their seminars. The lectures of advanced SQL are therefore based on Oracle's SQL and PL/SQL rather then SQL99.
