The course is focused on installation, configuration, and maintenance of database systems. Students will try administration of Oracle and PotgreSQL DBMS during the course. The main topics of lessons and discussion: installation & configuration, database creation process, typical maintenance (data structures, users, privileges, ...), backup and recovery issues, performance tuning.
