Milan Rollo from the Department of Computer Sciences from The Czech Technical Univerzity in Prague (ČVUT) participates in Development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for forest monitoring in cooperation with Czech Univerzity of Life Sciences Prague (ČZU) and Vojenské lesy a statky ČR, s.p. (VLS).
The aim of the project is to develop technology and methodology of modern remote sensing methods for forestry and game management based on unmanned aerial vehicles. Technology will comprise of systems for data collection and data analysis. The system will be based on cheaper hardware components and sensors than are those placed on traditional piloted aircraft. This will reduce the costs of monitoring and inventory based on remote sensing. The project will bring more up to date and sufficiently precise information for decision support processes in forest management and game management to more users.
