Defense Research Project Manager

The Department of Computers at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague is looking for a project manager for the field of defense research who will take responsibility for the complete management of assigned projects – from the preparation of proposals to their successful completion.

Job description – project management

  • Comprehensive project management – planning, coordination, and management of defense research projects (time, budget, risks, outputs)
  • Coordination of project application preparation in cooperation with researchers (collection of supporting documents, schedule, budget, consortia)
  • Management of the implementation of assigned projects – ongoing monitoring of the fulfillment of objectives, milestones, and budget
  • Preparation of monitoring, interim, and final reports, including financial overviews and documentation for invoicing
  • Supervision of compliance with the conditions of the grant provider and internal rules of CTU
  • preparation of documents for regular reporting to department and faculty management, for inspections and audits
  • active communication and coordination of all parties involved – researchers and research teams, administrative team, dean's office, grant providers, project partners (academic and industrial)
  • Identifying risks during the project and proposing measures to minimize them
  • Ongoing organization of meetings, workshops, and project meetings, preparation of agendas and minutes

Basic requirements

  • University or high school education
  • Excellent knowledge of English (very good written and spoken communication skills – communication with partners and providers, preparation of documentation)
  • Good working knowledge of PCs (MS Office – especially Word, Excel, Google Docs, etc.)
  • Friendliness, willingness, patience, reliability, diligence, and ability to find and provide accurate information
  • Independent, active, systematic, and diligent approach to work, high administrative and organizational skills
  • ability to work under time pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize them correctly
  • excellent organizational and communication skills, willingness to learn new things and develop in the field of project management
