The 4th edition of the Qminers Quant Hackathon is here! The competition, co-organized by our IDA Research Group and Qminers company, is open to all students, both university and high school, who want to put their knowledge of mathematics, programming, and machine learning to the test.
This hackathon is designed for talented students in technology fields, combining challenge, creativity, and fun. Participants will work with real-world sports data to design predictive models and build strategies inspired by quantitative finance. After an online qualification round, the top 20 teams will advance to the live final in Prague.
The prize pool is CZK 100,000:
1st place: CZK 60,000
2nd place: CZK 30,000
3rd place: CZK 10,000
“Machine learning and mathematical modeling are key skills our students develop during their studies. The hackathon gives them a chance to apply these skills to real-world problems,” says Gustav Šír, Department of Computer Science, CTU.
From Qminers’ perspective, the competition is also a way to bring students closer to the world of cutting-edge technologies and fast-paced decision-making. “Our trading systems operate within microseconds, which requires precise mathematical models and efficient programming. The hackathon lets students experience how such systems work,” adds Petr Zahradník, CEO of Qminers.
No advanced knowledge is required to enter, but strong teams will combine diverse skills: math, machine learning, Python programming, and a bit of stress resistance for the intense final.
Registration is open until November 6, 2025 at qqh.fel.cvut.cz.
The final will take place on December 6, 2025 in Prague.
