Qminers Quant Hackathon 2024
After two successful editions, we invite you to the Qminers Quant Hackathon 2024 that will take place this fall. The competition is jointly organized by the IDA research group and our industry partner Qminers. Hackathon is open to all university students who have a technical background and dare to face difficult programming challenges. The goal of the challenge is to use machine learning in algorithmic trading and thus beat the basketball bookmaker. The winners will share CZK 100 000.
The hackathon takes place in the following phases:
- October 1–31
- November 1–21: Qualification round
- November 23: Final round at FEE CTU (Prague 2) + announcement of winners
During the hackathon, competitors will become professional sports bookmakers in order to win as much money as possible. For the period of one whole month, you will get real data on basketball results, apply machine learning methods and choose a suitable betting strategy against a virtual bookmaker.
The top 20 teams will finally compete at the in-person hackathon finals on November 23, 2024 (Saturday). Those who get the most money from betting using predictive modeling will also receive a real financial reward of CZK 60 000, CZK 30 000 and CZK 10 000.
