
On Monday 26th, RCI researchers and administrators arrived at the venue and participated in several teambuilding activities. We went for a hike from Senohraby to Ondřejov to visit the world famous observatory. Dr. Škoda kindly showed us the grounds of the Czech Academy of Sciences which also included Perk’s telescope and its control center. We enjoyed the experience and greatly thank him for providing us with this opportunity (and a tip for local pizzeria too).

On Tuesday 27th, the official part of offsite kicked off with presentation blocks that started early in the morning. The first two talks were by J. Toth and I. Varha. Both talks sparked interesting discussion. After a short coffee break, M. Saska presented an extensive overview of the MRS research with many interesting videos and demos. Next talk was by J. Nádvorník regarding the Hierarchical Semi-Sparse Cubes that are being used in context with astronomical big data.
After lunch, there was the third and last block of presentations for the day that included two presentations. The first one was given by D. Barucic regarding the characterization of drug effects on cell cultures. The second one was given by M. Kacerik referred to the topic of Potentially Visible Layered Image for Real-Time Ray Tracing. Full day of insightful talks was naturally followed by lively discussions between researchers and possibly inspired future collaborations across diverse teams.

On Wednesday 28th, the program consisted of two presentation blocks divided by a refreshing coffee break. V. Škvára spoke about his research on factor-based anomaly detection. Then, recent work done by J. Bělohoubek, M. Holec and R. Lórencz was introduced in the talk titled Flicker Noise Transient Simulation, Aging and Dose Effects Modeling: Work-in-Progress.
M. Virius took the audience on an exciting journey through the field of high-energy physics. He explained how to use efficient parallel algorithms for fast big data processing. The conference was concluded by S. Edelkamp who presented his findings on Algorithmic Intelligence for Multi-Goal Motion Planning.
