AIC Seminar: Libor Caha (TUM)

Lecturer

Libor Caha is a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University in Munich in the group of Prof. Robert Koenig. During his PhD, he specialized in quantum Hamiltonian complexity. He did a research internship at IBM Research in Zurich. His primary interests are quantum computation, computational complexity theory, and many-body systems.

Abstract

Quantum advantage from simple quantum circuits

Where lies the power of quantum computers? We will focus on restricted models of computation, specifically, constant-depth quantum and constant-depth classical circuits. We will learn that even one of the arguably simplest quantum circuits, based on the fundamental task of gate teleportation, provides an unconditional quantum advantage. The presentation will be based on joint work with Xavier Coiteux-Roy and Robert Koenig.
