On Friday, Jan 20th, we welcomed prof. Jacky Baltes from National Taiwan Normal University, prof. Reinhard Gerndt from Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences, and their students, who arrived for the Czech-German-Taiwan Workshop on Intelligent Robots (CTG Workshop).

Together with the host, prof. Jan Faigl, Ph.D. students from the Computational Robotics Laboratory (CRL) and students from Open Informatics program, the visitors brainstormed and worked on various robotics problems, such as the dynamics of servos on a humanoid robot.

Prof. Baltes, the president of FIRA WorldCup, introduced the FIRA robotics competitions with a focus on humanoid robot research as a part of the ongoing FIRA HUROCUP. Together with prof. Gerndt, they announced the upcoming FIRA Robot World Cup 2023 that will be held in the Ostfalia Wolfenbüttel, from Jul 17, 2023 to Jul 21, 2023.
Students presented their work on robotics, motion planning and reinforcement learning projects. Moreover, a student team from the Ostafalia university presented achieved results on fire extinguishing robots as their joint effort towards business development.
Besides, prof. Faigl, Chair of the OI study program, discussed further international collaboration in the student exchange program with Ostfalia University.
